The Artists

We are a mother and daughter team from Brisbane, who discovered reborn dolls back in 2004 and thought it extraordinary that simple vinyl dolls could resemble real babies. We were hooked! After a lot of research and much nagging of an established reborn artist here in Queensland, we finally had two of our very own. Babes Enchanted was created soon after so we could share this wonderful hobby with others.

Our reborning methods have developed a lot since we first began and we now have better ways of colouring, weighting and hand-rooting mohair so that it is baby fine (not to mention we've cut back on the number of broken needles!). The reborning process is constantly changing and challenging all artists to dream up new ways of making these dolls as realistic as possible, so we are always researching and experimenting to try and achieve this.

We first started off with the Berenguer 'Snookie' face mould, later discovering a collection of wonderful artists who have created even more realistic baby moulds and vinyl textures such as silicone vinyl. Such artists are: the Ashton Drake Galleries, Sheila Michael, Laura Tuzio-Ross and Linda Webb just to name a few. These artists bring out limited editions each year, making that reborn a little more unique and collectable. All dolls, no matter their pricing, are well worth the time and effort.
